I never planned to become a chocolatier.

In fact, I was convinced my future had already been written.

After spending 18 years building a career at one company, I suddenly found myself standing at a crossroads, wondering what came next.

Then one conversation changed everything.

"I think I'm going to make chocolate," I said.

My husband smiled. "Don't make ordinary chocolate. Make chai masala."

Those three words unlocked something I hadn't expected.

The warmth of cracked cardamom. The aroma of saffron. The comfort of spices that had filled family kitchens for generations. Memories I hadn't thought about in years suddenly became possibilities.

I realized I wasn't just making chocolate.

I was telling stories through flavour.

Today, every Karmic Kocoa creation is handcrafted in Toronto, blending fine chocolate with the spices, ingredients, and traditions that shaped my childhood. Each bonbon is an invitation to discover something familiar in an entirely new way.
